Samarkand, 26 November 2025 – I am very grateful for the opportunity to join the NGO group and contribute insights on the marine ornamental fish trade. It was an honor to highlight the EU’s growing interest in utilizing the online Trade Control and Expert System (TRACES) to monitor all live animals, plants, and their derivatives.
Strengthening collaboration is essential to ensure transparency, sustainability, and the long-term protection of our oceans.
A special thank-you to my colleagues at #IFAW for organizing an excellent meeting with the European Parliament’s delegation in Samarkand. NGOs came together to discuss priorities for CITES #CoP20 and the implementation of the EU Action Plan against Wildlife Trafficking.
